Newcastle makes an offer for Dembélé and should take him from Barcelona

Newcastle have offered a contract to take striker Ousmane Dembélé away from Barcelona. The Frenchman already has a salary offer of 15 million euros net per season on the table, plus 15 million euros in gloves for just signing the contract with the English team. Dembélé was signed by Barcelona in August 2017, the team shelled out 105 million euros, plus a variable 40 million in bonuses – at the time, he became the second largest transfer in history, second only to Neymar’s arrival at Paris Saint-Germain

Despite the high value invested, the Frenchman did not perform well. His time at Barcelona was marked more by injuries than by goals and assists. Since he arrived at the Spanish club he has played 120 matches and scored only 30 goals.

Dembélé’s contract with Barcelona ends on June 30, 2022, which means that in January he can sign a pre-contract with any other team. The financial crisis at the Catalan club and the high investment that Newcastle has because of the sale to the Arab investment fund are elements that leave Dembélé closer to England.
